FANTASTIC NIGHT IN STOURBRIDGE!
A fantastic evening of 6-a-side football in the Stourbridge Tuesday League with all teams in attendance as expected.
Premier Division-
The evening kicked off in the Stourbridge Tuesday League with a toughly contested draw between ‘Real Madras’ and ‘Goals Aloud’ with the final score being 2-2 but both teams push each other to the limit throughout. The next game came with a 2-0 victory for league champions ’50 Shades of O’Shea’ over ‘Is It Half Time Yet?’ in a thrilling game which saw both sides fight to the end to grab the points. The third game came in the form of another draw nonetheless a tough contest between ‘Haven’t Got a Kalou’ and ‘Gangsters Allardyce’ where the two sides could not be separated as the contested finished 1-1. The final game which was GAME OF THE WEEK between ‘Gylfi Pleasures’ and ‘Stourbridge CC’ finished 3-2 to ‘Gylfi Pleasures’ in what was a thrilling game which either side could’ve won and keeps the race for second place still up for grabs.
Division One-
Division One proved just as exciting as always with the first game of the evening resulting in a 2-0 win for ‘BH Darlings’ over ‘Winlot Rangers’ which was an important victory for the side as they climb back up to second place in the league standings, leapfrogging their opponents on the night. This set the tone for the rest of the evening with ‘Troey’s Rentboys’ taking inspiration leading to a 4-0 victory for them over ‘Stourbridge Olympic’ meaning the are now two points clear at the top with two games remaining. The third game of the evening in Division One saw ‘FC Celta’ pick up form and beat ‘See You Next Tuesday’ 4-2 in a well drilled win, third on only goal difference they will be looking to close the gap on the league leaders next week, this was also GAME OF THE WEEK in Division One. Then final game of the evening which saw TEAM OF THE WEEK ‘S Side Bby’ beat ‘Who ate all Depays’ in an impressive 9-0 win, showing the intent they have to improve as the new season draws near.
