A fantastic night of very entertaining games of 6-a-side football in the Stourbridge Tuesday League.
It was great to welcome new team 'Swanky FC' who were part of a brilliant game on the night and were unlucky to lose. We wish them all the best moving forward in the league!
Game of the night in the Premier Division this week goes to the game between 'Troey's Rentboys' and '50 Shades of O'Shea'. A fantastically tense game that was decided by the clinical nature of the finishing and fine defensive work to keep a clean sheet by '50 Shades of O'Shea' with the score line ending 2-0 to last season's champions. Six games left and one point off top, there could be a crunch match coming in the weeks to come but let's see what happens.
Game of the night in Division One was the game between 'Murder on Zidane's Floor' and 'Oaks Ay We'. A top-quality game that showed the quality on offer in Division One and saw a wonderful win for the league leaders 'Murder on Zidane's Floor' 2-1. 8 wins from 8 for the league leaders in a very competitive league so well done to them and good luck keeping this form up in the final six games of the season.
Division Two game of the night was between 'Yatesy VI' and 'FC Resonance'. A close affair saw 'Yatesy VI' run out 3-2 winners as their opponents put up a good fight. Third place as we head into the second half of the season can they produce the form they need in order overtake the top two, next up is the 3rd vs 4th game as they take on 'Vai FC' and neither will want to lose any ground on the top two.
Team of the week for this week with their performance above are '50 Shades of O'Shea'. Having only dropped three points all season they are looking good for a top two spot in the Premier League, only off top because another team has only dropped two points. With six to go it will be interesting to see if they can retain their title this season.
