A fantastic night of very entertaining games of 6-a-side football in the Stourbridge Tuesday League with all teams in attendance as expected.
The game of the evening in the Premier League was a tight game between 'Lenton Orient B' and 'Hold That FC' as three goals flew in, and some fantastic chances were created throughout. It was 'Lenton Orient B' who closed the gap on their opponents with a 2-1 win in the end. With two weeks to go two points seperates the top two, who will be this seasons champions and runners up?
Division One also had plenty of exciting games, however the game that caught the eye was the 1-1 draw between 'Swanky FC' and 'Gary Neville is a Legend'. A top-quality division summed up by a game like this as neither team could break the deadlock on the night with the new season fast approaching. Congratulations to both 'Haven't Got a Kalou' as they confirmed joined 'Lenton Orient' in confirming their place in the top two for the season and 'Lenton Orient' will be crowned champions with if they don't lose next week against 'RHs Finest'.
Division Two's game of the evening resulted in a 2-1 win for 'Lads on Toure' over 'Saka Potatoes' where either team could have taken the win. In an end-to-end game it was 'Lads on Toure' who came away with the win and therefore cemented there place in 3rd after this week's games and will be looking to finish strong after another great season. 'Lads on Toure' face 'HAS Bins' next week and a win will see them almost all but guarantee a third place finish!
The team of the week is given to 'FC Resonance' as they provided a dominant display as they ran out comprehensive winners on the night. They have really improved as the season has gone on so will be looking to build on this as the new season is on the horizon.
