STOURBRIDGE TUESDAY 6 A SIDE BREAKING NEWS 31ST JANUARY

All the latest news for the Stourbridge Tuesday 6-a-side League direct from Stourbridge Rugby Club.

A fantastic night of very entertaining games of 6-a-side football in the Stourbridge Tuesday League. 

Unfortunately, we did have an incident in the game between 'Troey's Rentboys' and 'Lenton Orient B' when a player from 'Troey's Rentboys' was red carded for throwing a punch at an opposition player, he has been fined £20 and banned permanently for this as this kind of behaviour is not welcome at the league. It is paramount all teams and players remain in the rules of the league at all times, if not disciplines will be issued swiftly and accordingly in order to look after everyone at the league.

In more positive news, game of the night in the Premier League this week goes to the game between 'Hold That FC' and 'Murder on Zidane's Floor'. A fantastically tense game that was decided by some fine defensive work to keep the scores level at 0-0 and meant both teams took a point from the game. Three points separates the two teams with 6 games left, it's anyone's guess to see who will be the top two come the end of the season.

Game of the night in Division One was the game between 'Swanky FC' and 'Stourbridge Olympic'. A top-quality game that showed the quality on offer in Division One and saw a wonderful win for 'Swanky FC'. Again three points off top with six games left, can they squeeze into the top two and gain promotion? Next up, 'RHs Finest'.

Division Two game of the night was between 'HAS Bins' and 'I Only Put Matip In'. A close affair saw 'HAS Bins' the more clinicial and run out 3-0, winners as their opponents put up a good fight. With how close this league is it will be interesting how the teams finish come the end of the season but six games to go and a chance to upset one of the top two next week in 'Yatesy VI'.

Team of the week for this week with their performance above are 'Swanky FC'. Having only lost one game all season they are looking good for promotion push, only out of the top two by one point and with still games against the teams above in Division One.
