STOURBRIDGE TUESDAY 6 A SIDE BREAKING 15TH JUNE 22

The latest news for the Stourbridge Tuesday 6-a-side League is direct from Stourbridge Rugby Club.

A fantastic night of 6-a-side football in the Stourbridge Tuesday League. We did have two non-attendances on the night. 'Troey's Rentboys' were not present after giving the required seven days notice to cancel a fixture, we look forward to having them back next week and 'Oaks Ay We' were unable to fulfil there fixture. 'Oaks Ay We' have been contacted and have confirmed there return next week. It is paramount that all teams are at the league every single week in order for the league to run as smoothly as possible and to contact your Area Manager if there are any problems.

In more positive news it was great to welcome new team 'Hold That FC' as they competed in there first week in the BRAND NEW DIVSION TWO with a fantastic result in the process. Good luck to them and all new teams competing in the new division moving forward!

In the Premier Division, we had some excellent games of football, however, the best to be seen was the first game of the evening as 'Twinkle Toes FC' won 4-3 against 'Who Ate All Depays' in a battle that went on to the very end with them pipping the opposition at the final whistle. This was an all-around excellent team effort and helps the team climb to 5th and 2 points off the top two, can they win again next week when they take on 'Troey's Rentboys'?

In Division 1 we saw an entertaining game between 'Haven't Got a Kalou' and 'Gangsters Allardyce' where the second team ran out 4-1 winners in a game closer than the score line suggests. This victory was down to the 'Gangsters Allardyce' duo James and Dan H and although heated at times was of good quality and showed of the talents of the division. We look forward to seeing if they can continue this form when the play 'FC Resonance' next week.

Finally, it was brilliant to welcome our brand new Division 2 where the teams were welcomed with opening arms alongside a great set of fixtures with teams settling into the Leisure Leagues style of play. The game of the evening was played between 'Horses for Courses' and 'Lenton Orient' as the teams got underway, however, it was 'Horses For Courses who came away with the result. With this win are they showing there title credentials early for the new division? Only time will tell.

The team of the evening this week is given to 'Murder On Zidanes Floor' of the new division 2 as they took on their opponents and won big in a thriller of a game which despite the score line was an excellent watch with both sides playing good football throughout. For 'Murder On Zidane's Floor' it was Josh Webb who won the game for them with 5 excellent goals. Early league leaders means they are the ones to watch after week one.
