THREE GAMES DOWN IN STOURBRIDGE!

A fantastic night of 6-a-side football in the Stourbridge Tuesday League. Unfortunately we did have one non-attendance as 'Springfield FC' failed to show for their fixture. The league have been in contact with the team and they have confirmed there return next week. It is paramount that all teams try there hardest to get a team out each and every week and if this is not possible that they notify the area manager in order for the league to run as smoothly as possible.

We did also have an incident that happened at the end of the first game of the night on the Premier Division pitch. In the game between 'Haven't Got A Kalou' and 'Cheilini Con Carne', an incident broke out following a poor challenge from 'Haven't Got A Kalou' player Shaun Poole. The reaction to the challenge led to the goalkeeper of 'Cheilini Con Carne' to punch the player in the back of the head and for 2 or 3 other players from 'Cheilini Con Carne' to kick him and other players from 'Haven't Got A Kalou' when they were on the floor. It goes without saying that this type of violent conduct is not welcome at the league and therefore 'Cheilini Con Carne' have been removed from the league with immediate effect and fined £100 for their actions on the night. Shaun Poole of 'Haven't Got A Kalou' will also be fined £10 for the tackle he made to start the incident. It is important that all teams remain within the rules of the league and it is important to remember that any disciplinary issues will be dealt with swiftly and accordingly. Although this does open up a space in the league it is paramount that teams understand that this is a leisure league and that if any situation like this is to happen again in future that the same punishment will be given every time. As we do have a team on the waiting list, this team will be contacted in the coming days in order to take the space that has been vacated.

On more positive news, game of the night in the Premier Division this week goes to the game between 'Stourbridge CC' and 'Rangers'. Two very good sides that know each other well played out a very entertaining game but it was 'Stourbridge CC' who got their first win of the season 4-1. Next week they will look to build on this so they can climb the table in the weeks to come.

The game of the night in Division One was between 'Stourbridge Olympic' and 'Athletic Dildao'. The third time these teams have met and each time it has been very close, this time out it was 'Athletic Dildao' who were able to come out 1-0 winners. A very competitive start to the season in this league should make for a brilliant season ahead.

Team of the week has to be 'Wollaston' as they ran out 6-0 winners over last seasons runners up 'Is It Half Time Yet?'. Following there impressive performance last week against the champions of the league they have followed it up well and will they now be able to mount a challenge for the title this season? Next up 'Haven't Got A Kalou'

Although the league is currently full there is always space on our waiting list! If you are interested sign up today and take part in the best leagues in your area!
