Top two collide in Swindon Academy six a side

It was another excellent night of football on Thursday in the Leisure Leagues Swindon six a side from Swindon Academy. There was excellent football played across the four matches. However, the match of the night saw The Lads and Fat and Sassy finally go head to head. The two have been at the top all season long and despite both playing excellent football, nothing could separate them at the end of the game. 

In game 1 of the night 1980s Legends won an enjoyable game against Exeter Gently 3-1 to keep alive their chance of catching The Plough to finish best of the rest. In the second game of the night The Lads and Fat and Sassy played out an excellent football match which underlined exactly why these two teams are far and away the best teams in the league. Both teams came away thinking they could have won the game but in the end both had to settle for a point. The Lads stay top just while Fat and Sassy are in second only because of an inferior goal difference. In the third game Spezial and The Plough played a competitive game of football on which both sides created plenty of chances. Just like the previous game though both had to settle for a point as it finished 3-3. Finally Lean Team continued their march up the league table with a convincing 3-1 win against BA Boys.
