WEEKLY NEWS FOR 19th JULY

Good morning everyone,

Thank you all for another brilliant night of football at John of Gaunt school! Great to see such a standard of football being played throughout!

Premier League
Teenage Mutant Ninja Skrtels couldn't make their fixture due to 11 a side commitments which handed Borussia Munchenvadgeflaps a 5 - 0 win! Thank you to Chris Giles for organising a stand in team to play. Holding the reigning champions to a 3 - 3 draw is no easy task! Great result. The second game of the evening saw a brilliantly contested game between Shunt Gunk Utd and Bring Back Lloyds FC, despite a man of the match performance from captain Paul Boorman Bring Back Lloyds edged this one 1 - 0. The next game saw another MVP performance by captain Myles Woodward to not only see his FC Fusion side run out 7 - 3 winners over 6 Offenders but also saw him take the outright lead in the player of the season standings, a brilliant performance and a fitting tribute. The upset of the night goes to Beneteke Fried Chicken who put in a monumental performance to beat title contenders Trow Utd 5 - 0. The last game of the evening saw a great game of football between White Horse and ABCDE FC, both teams had multiple chances throughout but it was White Horse who capitalised with a 1 - 0 victory!

Division 1
Tinchy Sneijder opened the evening with a brilliant tribute performance seeing off Class on Grass 8 - 1, Sean Horobin being awarded the man of the match even though he managed to hit the woodwork a record 15 times. Expected Toulouse returned to winning ways with a solid 4 - 1 win over Ivory Toast which sees them consolidate a mid table finish! McDons put in a great shift to hold in form Freshford Rejects to a 1 - 1 draw! Brilliant performance by Junior Richardson and his team! Crips Outlaws FC secured a valuable point towards the end of the season holding Scoring like Sonogo to a 1 - 1 draw. The final game of the evening saw Fossil FC secure a 1 - 0 victory against Dixie Normous FC even after Ryan Ford put in a MVP shift for his team!

Other News

We would like to welcome Ben Palmer to our team who will be helping out with the Match Night Supervising over the next few weeks, I will introduce him to all the teams who dont already know him, great to have you with us Ben.

Please remember that we operate rolling seasons so after the next few games we will continue on into a brand new season with two teams being promoted and two relegated!

Very sad news that the very well liked Paul Doddington passed away this week. Great to see teams wearing black arm bands as a sign of respect as well as holding a minutes silence in his memory. Our thoughts our with all his family and friends.
