WEEKLY NEWS FOR 22nd MARCH

Good morning everyone,

Another fantastic season of Leisure Leagues football comes to and end at John of Gaunt school! What a brilliant season it was with relegation and promotion coming down to the very last games of the season! Thank you all for helping to make the season as successful as it was!

Premier League
Team apetito capitulated in their last game to fall to a 9 – 0 defeat to champions Borussia Munchenvadgeflaps to hand the initiative to Exeter Gently to secure second spot with a win. They duly obliged with a brilliant 3 – 0 win over Expected Toulouse, James Clifford scoring an absolute wonder goal! Captain Nathan Marshall was the stand out performer in the next game between ABCDE FC and his side Bancoloana helping them to a 1 – 0 win. The final game of the evening saw FC Fusion play Fossil FC (In place of Teenage Mutant Ninja Skrtels) in which the goalkeeper from Fossil FC played a game that David De Gea would have been proud of! Unfortunately, this wasn’t enough and Myles Woodward’s Fusion FC ran out 2 – 0 victors. Borrussia will be entered into the Champions draw, Exeter Gently will be entered into the Runners up prize draw, Nathan Marshall secured player of the season with his Man of the Match display earning him the coveted place in the Player of the season draw. Although Expected Toulouse will be relegated to Division 1 they will also be entered into the Prize draw for finishing bottom.

Division 1
Crips Fc squeezed past a determined McDons FC with Warren Roberts putting in a brilliant display at the back for the winners. Wreckhead Rovers kept up the pressure for a second-place finish with a 2 – 0 win over Class on Grass. Champions Bring Back Lloyds FC ran out 3 – 1 winners over Ballers FC. Everything came down to the final game of the season in Division 1 to see which side would secure second place which would come with promotion and entry into the prize draw. It was 6 Offenders who handled the pressure to run out 5 – 0 winners over Ivory Toast! Both divisions runners up were decided on goal difference this season! Bring Back Lloyds FC will be entered into the Champions Draw, 6 Offenders will be entered into the runners up draw. Dan Cockerill will be entered into the player of the season draw and Crips Fc have been entered into the bottom of the league draw!

Good Luck to all teams involved!
