WEEKLY NEWS FOR 8th OCTOBER

Good afternoon everyone,

Thursday saw us kick off a brand new season with all teams in attendance as always and some fantastic football on display in both leagues! Thursday really is our stand out evening for competitive football!

The Untamed Fitness Premier League
First game of the season in the Premier league saw a strong Non Binary Gender Fluids take on Net Six and Chill which was an end to end affair with chances galore! It was NBGF that were the more clinical of the sides as they found the back of the net three times sealing a solid 3 - 0 win! Game of the evening in the Premier League saw South West Slugs play a young BarcaBoner in a spirited game which was none stop with opportunities falling to both sides to take home the win! Neither side was able to snatch a late winner as the game ended 3 - 3! Will both of these teams be competing for their first Leisure Leagues title this season? A huge thank you to Scoring like Sonogo who stepped up to the Premier League after their original game to play out a dramatic 3 - 3 draw with Lance Davies and his Released on Bale! Great to hear it was such a competitive game showing just how close our leagues are now in terms of talent! Park the Bus had a rough start to the season as they forgot to put the handbrake on and reigning champions Fusion FC ran riot in a comprehensive 9 - 0 whitewash! Can anyone threaten Harry Ledbury and Fusion FC's title run? New boys Balotellitubbies were gifted a 5 - 0 win in their first game as they had a points match, thank you to Bailey Cooper and Park the Bus who agreed to stay on and provide a stern test for Nick Hards and his team in their first game!

The 3M0 Division 1
New newly sponsored Division 1 kicked off with an epic clash between veteran's 6 Offenders and Trippenham! Trippenham were dominant on the ball with both Joey and Valentine creating numerous chances for their side, the stand out player in the match was 6 Offenders keeper Tom Shaughnessy who pulled off an incredible 23 saves through the duration of the match! However it still wasn't enough as Trippenham were able to squeeze a couple of neat finishes past Tom to secure a 2 - 1 win! This game is a perfect example of just how close this league is going to be! Both Fossil FC and Scoring like Sonogo look like forces to be reckoned with an outstanding game ended 3 - 1 to Fossil with Kev Vickery bagging himself a brace which set the sides apart! Jake Davies with the solitary goal for Sonogo who will look to bounce back immediately to keep their title chances alive! A new look New Era FC was spearheaded by Khanh Tran as they looked to stamp their authority on the league! Star striker Lindel Gilling was unable to impose himself on the game as it was a lack of finishing that let both them and Fleet Squad FC down in a 1 - 1 draw! Game of the night in 3M0's Division 1 was a fiery game between SW Dons and Lost Boys which saw 2 sin bins, 1 penalty and a brilliant fought game which ended 2 - 1 to the Dons with the all important winner coming from star man Will Stanton! Huge shoutout to Lost Boys keeper Sam Long who pulled off a tremendous penalty save from Rob Maddox who demonstrated perfectly why defenders should not be allowed to take penalties! Great to see both teams shake hands after the final whistle even after a heated and hard fought game! Credit to both Aarron Oakey and Rob Maddox who both captained their teams brilliantly! The final game of the evening saw another god like goalkeeping display, this time from Trystan Marshall who was in goal for new boys One hit Wanderers, captain Jake Letteboer the star man who Madiline Milan who had a bag full of chances but Trystan pulled off save after save after save to give his boys a chance at taking something form this game! Unfortunately it wasn't enough as Jake was able to pick out the bottom corner from range to give his side the win!
