Monday night update!

Another week at The Vyne School and the title race is not looking likely to loose its excitement as we come into the final 4 weeks! Division one is looking like the title is already sorted, with Stroke Titty 7 points clear, its only a matter of deciding the runners up, with only 2 points separating positions 2-5th.

PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM OF THE WEEK!

This week team of the week will go to 'Athletico Pathetico'. The decision was made due to their position in the league and this game being a "must win", without this win, their hopes of a title or runners up medal are extremely unlikely, so it was known that the pressure was on, especially after narrowly missing out on the title last season, James Hartwell (the captain) made it clear to me that they had unfinished business and very much wanted to come back and push for a title this time. In a game where their title hopes very much lay In their own hands, they had to perform and even though their opponents are the already relegated ABCDE FC, they most certainly are not a team that would just give up and give them the win. Make no mistake, a top performance was a minimum requirement. A player that definitely did receive this memo, was their man in the middle Joe Fuller. Joe was that guy really putting a shift in, always pressing the opposition to win the ball back and rarely misplacing a pass. Joe was vey much vital for his teams victory on Monday night. Athletico have been in a bit of dip with their form lately, but I really hope this win will help them get back to the top of the division where they belong and try to finish their "unfinished business", this team is far too good to not be battling for the title!

PREMIER LEAGUE MOTM AWARDS!

Michal Borbely - THANKS FOR POINTS - Michal is no stranger to receiving MOTM and is currently sitting joint 1st in the 'most valuable player of the season' table. He is just consistently brilliant!

Ross Barber - Rough n Ready - Ross started as a temporary stand in goalkeeper, but due to his constant performances, it has become much more permanent and I can very much see why! He is just one of those goalkeepers where you don't just assume it's a goal when his defence has been beaten.

DIVISION ONE TEAM OF THE WEEK!

West Ham Sandwich will be crowned 'Team of the week' this week, after another must win game for them puts them in a very good position. Brandon Gillam's team were very much floating around the bottom half of the table for most of the season, but have really found some impressive form to somehow be in the position to try and push for a promotion into the Premier League for next season and now find themselves sitting in joint second place, only in third due to goal difference, so it really will be a must win scenario for both teams in second and third to claim the runners up prize and be playing against the leagues best teams next season. The organisation these guys have gained in their first full season has been hugely noticeable. These guys were struggling for even a draw when they first started and now they find themselves in a promotion battle, very impressive!

DIVISION ONE TEAM MOTM AWARDS!

Rueben Birkett - Chicken Tikka Mo Sala - Rueben was one of the reasons this game ended so competitively, his energy was very noticed in the middle of the park and made some vital tackles to win back possession.

Jack Mcgregor - Astroworldies - Jack was another player that really impressed the referee on Monday night, his passing and vision really helped his team to perform the way they did.
