Abingdon Monday 5 a side match day report!

Thank you to all teams at our Abingdon Monday 5 a side last night. It was a great night of football with the Premier League title race really hotting up as we get closer to the end of the season with four teams all in with a shout.

There was little change at the top of the Premier League as the top 4 teams all won to keep to very tight, just 3 points separate 1st to 4th. Despite a valiant effort 5th place Hardly Athletic look to now be out of the title race as they went down to top of the table Fruity Spartans 4-3 which leaves them 6 points adrift. Coopers Troopers are currently sitting second just 2 points behind as they came through a difficult match with SWXI to win 3-1. Hadland Rovers in third who are level on points with Coopers had a points match win last night with Sex Drugs and Charlton Cole being away. Finally a point further back are Club Tropicana Drinks FC who stayed in touch with a 5-2 victory against Victorious Secret.

Young Guard will be a welcome addition to the Premier League next season as they moved onto 20 points with their 10th win on the bounce to keep up their 100% record in Div 1, last nights win came against Class On Grass 7-3. FCUOB and Basically Barca battle it out for the second promotion spot, both are level on 14 points. FCUOB had a 3-1 win over KanteFitMyWillian while Barca beat Savills 8-2. The other result in the division saw Substandard Liege defeat Cunning Stunts 6-1.

Unprotected Cesc move a point clear in the Div 2 title race as they recorded an important 8-5 victory against Expected Toulouse while second place Abingdonnys were held to a 3-3 draw. Ivory Toast are still in with an outside chance of promotion as they won 8-1 against Survey Monkeys to take them within 3 points of Donnys. Last but not least Tass picked up a good win in their match with 2 Girls 1 Schlupp 5-2.

Thank you very much to all teams and of course to our supervisor Dean along with our refs Warren, Andy and Ian. Enjoy your week everyone and see you on Monday for match day 11.
