Abingdon Wednesday 5 a side round up!

Great to see 24 teams in attendance last night for match day 12 at our Abingdon Wednesday 5 a side league. The title races in the Premier League and Div 2 look like going down to the wire.

In the Premier League table toppers Fruity Spartans continue to close in on the trophy but didn't have it easy last night as SWXI made them earn their 5-3 victory which keeps them 2 points clear. Coopers Troopers had a much more comfortable evening as they boosted their goal difference with a 16-4 win over Victorious Secret to go second. Hadland Rovers suffered a 5-3 defeat to Hardly Athletic which all but drops them out of the title race now. The other result in the Prem saw Sex Drugs and Carlton Cole produce a fine performance to beat Club Tropicana Drinks FC 7-3. 

In Div 1 after last weeks defeat Young Guard bounced back to win 6-3 against Cunning Stunts who look to be heading through the trap door to Div 2 next season however a top effort to push the leaders and champions elect. Basically Barca jumped into second spot after they won 11-4 against The Sticky Bandits and FCUOB were held to a 3-3 draw by Substandard Liege. In the other game Kante got the better of Savills in another close game 6-4.

Abingdonnys and Unprotected Cesc continue to battle it out for the Div 2 title and there was no change at the top last night as they both won. Abingdonnys edged past Expected Toulouse 3-2 while Cesc impressed beating 2 Girls 1 Schlupp 13-1. Third place Ivory Toast aren't completely out of it as they played a guest side due to Tass being away so are awarded a 5-0 win. Last but not least Survey Monkeys took the points in their match with Norfolk N Clue winning 5-3.
