Victor Moses Lawn seal Div 3 title at Abingdon 5 a side

There's just one more week to go this season as our Abingdon Monday 5 a side league comes an end just before Christmas. The 20th December will see the last round of matches before the Xmas break and the new season will begin on the 10th January.

The Premier League will need a reform with some new teams coming in in January. Fruity Spartans and Hadland Rovers picking up points match wins with Spartans guaranteed the title now Unlimited have dropped out. Maybe a title decider next week between Hadland and Spartans???

The Div 1 title race was over a long time ago with Ivory Toast winning all their game up to now, however there was a surprise defeat for them last night as Unnamed 31 year old Everton players rocked up to win 5-3, you can forgive Toast for taking their foot of the gas though after such an impressive season. Norfolk N Clue who go up in second faced Jugg FC in a great match which ended 4-4. Hardly Athletic dusted themselves off after last weeks heavy defeat to Ivory Toast to return this week and win 12-5 against Sevilla Depression. In the other match Poortugal played Hadland Rovers in a points match game.

Div 2 champions Royal Madrid were away this week but hope to be returning to action next week, unfortunately covid and injuries causing problems for them this week. Matip were also away this week but will be returning next week. This meant AB's and Expected Toulouse played each other in a points match. AB's are still in with a chance of promotion next week as second place Substandard Liege went down 12-4 to Survey Monkey's while The Sticky Bandits had a morale boosting 4-2 win over Cunning Stunts.

All eye's were on Div 3 as the promotion and title race saw some important games being played last night. It was Victor Moses Lawn's night as they won their match against Relegation Rovers 9-6 while Top Didcot Dawgs narrowly lost to Sporting John 3-2. This gave Victor Moses a 3 point lead and the title was secured. The second promotion spot is still up for grabs with Didcot just a point ahead of Sporting with a game to go. In other games there was a 7-0 win for FC Unts against The Reds while McFatty's bounced back from a heavy loss last week to win an 11 goal thriller 6-5 against Intayanan.

Thank you to all our teams and Dean for running the night with Martin, Tom and Ian reffing. Good luck in your final games next week. New teams can register now for the start of the new season on the 10th January. Thanks Rich 07969 731086
