Abingdon Monday 5 a side results!

We have just one week to go at our Abingdon Monday 5 a side league. There are still titles, promotions and relegations to be decided and a 3 way battle for the top prize in the Premier League.

We begin in the Premier League where the big match was between Fruity Spartans who had flirted with relegation earlier in the season but were now in with a title chance and Athletico Achilles who knew only a win would do. An entertaining match ended with Spartans winning it 8-4 to remain second on goal difference. Ivory Toast stay top after a points match win while Norfolk N Clue are third just a point behind. Achilles still have a big part to play in deciding where the title goes as they take on Ivory Toast next week while Spartans play Norfolk, both still with a chance of lifting the trophy.

Hardly Athletic produced the shock of the night as they upset the odds to defeat Div 1 champions elect Green Goblins 6-4. Royal Madrid occupy the other promotion place as they beat Sevilla Depression 9-3 while a close match between Poortugal and Unnamed 31 year old Everton Players ended in a 3-3 draw.

Div 2 champions AB's All Whites sealed another win in a great game with Goals Aloud which ended 8-6 to All Whites. Victor Moses Lawn hung on to secure the points in their 7-6 win over Substandard Liege to stay second. A rampant Champagne Super Rovers continued their excellent form with a 11-3 win over Survey Monkey's to go third.

What a title race there is in Div 3 as the top two won again which sets up a final day showdown between Sporting John the leaders and FC Unts, second only on goal difference. On Monday Sporting won 7-1 against Matip while Unts beat The Sticky Bandits 8-3. The other game in the division saw Cunning Stunts pick up a points match win with Expected Toulouse away this week.

Finally we move into Div 4 where champions Scumbag FC won again as they beat Fearless Duck 12-4. Intayanan sealed promotion with a 8-6 victory against McFatty's while Relegation Rovers picked up a points match win.

Thank you to Warren for looking after the league while Dean is living it up in the USA, also thanks to all our refs and teams.
