5 a side END OF SEASON at Abingdon

Last night was the season finale for our 5 a side Wednesday league in Abingdon.

Shaktar Last Night bow out of the league as champions finishing 3 points clear of 2nd placed Top of the Klopps. Wellers are 3rd despite being undone by Socios 9 - 7, Ye Mon join them on 16 points and finish a comfortable 4th. Silly Buggers and Socios take the drop to Division One but will be looking to bounce back quickly im sure.

Division One had an exciting night as The Mighty Ducks got the better of Spread the Play 3 - 1 to grab the title on goal difference. Both sides earn a place in the top flight for next season. Chamakh finished 3rd on 17 points having got past new side Team GH 3 - 1 on what was their 1st game in the division. Crouchy United held onto 4th place despite being beaten 4 - 3 by Nice Guys Finish Last. A points win for Trinity wasn't enough to keep them up and they join Team GH in Division 2 next season.

Their Division One places will be taken by Ale Stars and Exeter Gently. Ale stars going up as champions having finished a strong season with a point in a 2 - 2 draw against their closest challengers. Murder On Zidanes Floor miss out on promotion having gifted a 5 - 0 points win to Pathletico by not being available. Those points were enough to keep Pathletico out of the bottom two despite a good win for Hot Cross Buns who defeated Club De Cot 6 - 5. Slough Posse were too strong for Unremarkables, comfortably winning their game 10 - 1.

So thats it, I know a few teams are calling time on their involvement in this league now for various reasons, thank you to them all for their efforts and good luck in the future, the door is always open if you wish to return. For the rest, we start our new season next week so fixtures will be sorted and out pretty soon.

Thanks to our brilliant refs and supervisors throughout the season, it's a difficult job and we are grateful for your time and commitment.

Congratulations to Shaktar, The Mighty Ducks and Ale Stars on winning your leagues and good luck to everyone for next season..
