Abingdon Wednesday 5 a side match day report!
Thank you to all our teams at our Abingdon Wednesday night 5 a side league at Tilsley Park. We had a couple of teams away last night but plenty of excellent football still took place across our 3 divisions.
We start in the Premier League where something had to give in a top of the table clash between Hagdons and FC Hog. Hog have worked their way up from the bottom to be where they are today in the Premier League and have made a great start to the season. However it was Hagdons who secured the victory and go top with a 4-1 win. Abingdons FC were away last night so Ye Mon FC played Nice Guys Finish Last with both picking up points match wins.
There was another top of the table encounter in Div 1 as Shaktar met Zidanes. Zidanes had won their opening 4 matches and were desperate to keep the run going however Shaktar are also unbeaten and took the points with a 5-2 win to send them back into the top two. One team determined to right the wrongs of last season are Bayern Neverloosen and they are flying so far. It's 5 wins on the bounce now as they defeated Slough Posse 11-1. Spread The Play also had a big first win of the season as they beat Ale Stars 11-3 while Fernando Tories are becoming the entertaining draw specialists of the league as they shared a 5-5 draw with The Mighty Ducks this week after their 4-4 draw last time out.
No 100% records left in Div 2 now this season as leaders Chamakh My Pitch Up went down 7-4 to Crouchy Utd, a great win for Crouchy. Chamakh remain top on goal difference but are now joined by two other sides looking to maintain a title challenge. In second are FC Spangled who pushed Pathetico Madrid down to 4th with a 5-2 win over them. Club De Cot edged a fantastic contest with Kipsta 6-4 to go third. Finally despite an 11-1 loss to Brad's Formula it was amazing to see The Unremarkables score their first goal of the season, massive credit goes to these lads.
