Big results in all 3 divisions at Abingdon Wed 5 a side

An excellent night of 5 a side at Tilsley Park last night as all teams turned out to compete in this weeks matches.

There was a big result at the top of the Premier League as reigning champions Ye Mon finally came to the end of their winning run as Saky Thirds took the points in a 9-5 victory to draw level on points at the top of the table, however Ye Mon do hold onto top spot on goal difference and will be looking to bounce back next week. We also welcomed G Block Europe to the league and they took to it in no time at all winning 12-2 against Crouchy Utd. 3rd placed Abingdons had a comfortable night as they saw off Slough Posse 9-0 while Trade FC defeated Ale Stars 5-1.

In Div 1 we also saw the top two go head to head and it was Fatzio who came out on top to depose Rafacakes from top spot with a 7-2 win. Moving back into promotion contention are Hardly Athletic who had a great match with Murder On Zidanes Floor winning 6-4 in the end. Finally a tight match at the bottom of the table as The Pie Eaters pulled two points clear of relegation trouble as they defeated BTEC Moscow 3-2.

The top two met in all 3 divisions last night as FC Hog took control of Div 2 with a hotly contested encounter with DWFC to win 4-2 and move 4 points clear of their rivals. It was a good night for Sin Bin FC who went level on points with DWFC and are now firmly in the promotion shake up after they had a entertaining 11-7 victory against The Oscillators. In the other two matches Shaktar Last Night got back to winning ways with a 4-1 win over Chamakh My Pitch Up while Cumnor Veterans defeated Crixus 5-0. It leaves Shaktar and Cumnor both with a outside chance of promotion this season.

Thank you to all teams and see you next week for round 9 of fixtures
