SOCIOS CHAMPIONS OF ABINGDON

Our brilliant Wednesday night 6 a side league season wrapped up last night with Socios crowned as Premier League Champions. They finish just short of maximum points on 19 with an impressive plus 49 goal difference. Botley Wanderers are runners up on 14 points with HoldMyBeer in 3rd. The Mighty Ducks finish in the bottom two and will drop to Division One for the new season.

Congratulations to Murder On Zidanes Floor who claim the Division One title having finished 3 clear of Bagotelli and Slough Posse with the former taking the 2nd promotion place with a better goal difference. Ale Stars survive the drop by a single goal with Appleton Red going down with Maragonna to play Division Two football.

Goring GOB's have dominated Division Two this season and cruise to the league title with 18 points and a massive 108 goal difference, Wenger Boys take 2nd place on 14 points with Appleton White a commendable 3rd place.

We added the Golden Boot race to this seasons action and although not every team has given their scorers each week I think most have felt it a good addition. In the Prem Kevin Pinsent takes the trophy for his 27 goals for Socios ahead of Louis Snell of Botley Wanderers on 18. Scott Harris scored his 31st goal last night to secure the Division One award, finishing his season on 31 goals, ahead of teammate Tom Newport on 19 while Joff Shafe led the 4 Goring players who dominate the Div 2 scorers charts with 34 to win the golden boot for that division.

Well done to everyone involved in the league this season, we have had a number of teams come and go which is always frustrating and we are doing everything we can to create a stable set of divisions for you to play your football in. We will kick off the new campaign next Wednesday and I'll be in touch with captains soon with news about the format and fixtures but thank you for your involvement and good luck with the new season next week.

Lastly i just want to put a shout out to Dean and the team of officials that cover this league, they do a brilliant job and we couldn't run football leagues without them.
