Sunday 8th May - Birmingham Round-Up

It was a good evening's football overall in the University of Birmingham Sunday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance for their matches as scheduled, the only disappointment being Fritzl Palace in Division Two which was disappointing to see.

Things really couldn't have gone any better for Sting Dem FC this week as they top the league by three points after this weeks action, they were convincing 5-0 winners over Chivas Supplemento, whilst the next two teams both got beat to all but lose any title hopes they may have had.  Gledfellas slipped to a 2-1 defeat against and experienced Dad's Army side, and FKW FC suffered a 3-1 reverse against Chiellini Con Carne.

Division One leaders The Pique Blinders were 2-0 winners against Pain in Dias this week as they sit two points clear of second placed Only Matip In who were held to a 1-1 draw by Crusaders Massive, but both have promotion in the bag and are now battling it out for the bragging rights of taking the title.

Division Two leaders Dumbledore Pure Bludz extended their gap over second placed 34a1ner to four points this week as they edged past The Hungry Boys by a single goal, whilst the second placed team were held to a 2-2 draw by Tikka Taka.  Come Digne wrapped up the action in the division as they were comfortable 3-0 winners against Hotel Thiago.

Cesc Pistols hold on to pole position in Division Three after this weeks action, a 1-0 win over Bayer Neverlusen enough to ensure this was the case, whilst second placed Orange Tangerines keep up the pressure as best as they can after they won a seven goal thriller by 4 goals to 3 against Cadrington FC.  Third placed The Tormenta keep their promotion aspirations alive and boosted their goal difference significantly this week as they romped to a 15-3 victory over Brummie Boys, and fourth placed Jose 6 keep their faint hopes of promotion going with a 2-1 victory over Damo Carew.

Division Four new boys FC Bournabeu look a useful addition to the league as they were 2-1 winners over third placed Boshers FC meaning the top two extended their lead as Alton Wanderers were 5-2 winners against Mxrleys Angels, and The Cotters put in a disciplined performance to overcome Chucho Motherfooters by 2 goals without reply.

In Division Five, We've Got Diogo Jota looked on good form in front of goal much like the man himself!  They were 4-1 winners over Ajax Army, whilst Robben Me Blind were 3-0 victors over Charlotte's Hand Me Downs and the big winners of the day were Corner McGregor who put 10 past Naughty Pinky without reply.
