Sunday 27th January - Birmingham Round-up

An excellent evening of 6 a side football in Birmingham on Sunday saw all teams in attendance throughout the night as scheduled, the only exception being Tenner from the student division who will be spoken to accordingly as they failed to notify us of this.

One more point should secure the title for Goosters FC in the Premier Division, owing to their superior goal difference and current three point lead over second place, they stay unbeaten and were in fine form this week as they smashed Bartley Reds South 7-0.    Tilton Rifles did themselves no favors this week as they were beaten 1-0 by Pique Blinders, not only blowing any title hopes they had but also threatening their chances of finishing second.  Podolskiing were 1-0 winners over Chivas meaning they are now just a point behind Tilton with 2 to play.

It looks like its going to go down to the wire in Division one as Dads Army and D&G United are only separated by one goal, this after D&G were held to a 0-0 draw by Team A, and Dads Army capitalised with an impressive 3-2 win over Chivas Supplemento.

Sporting Madrid were 4-0 winners over rock bottom Leavemyarselona this week as they edge ever closer to that league title.  One more win will seal it as they sit three points clear with just two to play.  Six Offenders were 3-2 winners in their game over The Hungry Boys as jumped above their opponents and knocked them down to fourth place.  League Hunters sit in third place after a 1-0 win over Benteke Fried Chicken as those three battle it out for second place.

Simply Kosher guaranteed the title this week as nothing less than a win for Sportugal would do as the two met this week.  It finished 0-0 leaving Kosher 5 points clear of their rivals with 2 to play.  Sportugal's attention must now turn to getting that second promotion spot as they sit level with For The Fans in what looks like an exciting climax.

Unbelievably there are still 5 teams who could get promotion from Division 4 as just three points separate first to fifth place.  However Whiligh FC look set to guarantee at least 1 of those as they sit three points clear of third place with just two to play.

Shovel FC are now top of Division Five as they beat Tekkersslovakia 2-0 and Che Bois FC beaten 3-0 at the hands of Petes Ultimate Team.

Good luck to all teams going into the next round of fixtures with Birmingham's premier provider of small sided football.
