Sunday 21st November - University of Birmingham Round-Up

It was a good evening's football in the University of Birmingham 6 a side league on Sunday, which saw all teams in attendance for their matches as scheduled and some entertaining games played across all five divisions!

Sporting Madrid sit top of the pile at this early stage of the campaign as their goal difference sits at +7, with a 2-0 win against D&G United, whilst Sting Dem FC were made to work hard for the win this week, as they edged past Dad's Army by a single goal.  Chiellini Con Carne bounced back from last weeks defeat with an impressive 6-1 victory over Chivas Supplemento.

In Division One, Gledfellas were the big winners of the week after following up their defeat last week with an 8-1 demolition of Chivas Primera.  Only Put Matip are the only team in the division to win their first two games of the season as they recorded a 3-1 win over Gylfi Pleasures FC, whilst FKW and Dolce and Lallana cancelled each other out in a goalless draw.  Brunswick Bladez were in fine goal-scoring form as they thrashed Hotel Thiago 7-1 this week to get their season up and running.

Division Two saw Dumbledore Pure Bludz follow up their 8 goals last week with a better effort this week, as they romped to a 10-2 victory over Brummie Boys, whilst Birmingham Tiki Taka Elite sit in second place after also securing their second win in a row, they ran out 3-0 victors over The Hungry Boys to continue their excellent start to the season.  Elsewhere Pique Blinders got their season off and running in style, thrashing Pique Blinders by a 9-0 scoreline, whilst Come Digne With Me were 2-1 winners over Cesc Pistols.

Tikka Taka sit top of Division Three following a 3-2 win over Bayer Neverlusen to maintain a 100% record at this early stage of the campaign, whilst Cadrington and Jose 6 drew 2-2 to sit second and third in the table respectively.  34a1ner played their first fixture since moving into Division 3 and got off to a banging start with a 14-0 demolition of Law Abiding Sigurdsson.  FC Tormenta came out on top in their match-up against Boshers FC with the game ending 4-2 to Tormenta.

Division Four is headed up by The Cotters who came out on top of a seven goal thriller by 4 goals to 3 as they overcame Damo Carew.  An ever improving Winding Wanderers won their second game on the bounce, after a 4-0 win against DS Youth Academy, with Mxrleys Angels and UAE Town not being able to be separated as they played out a goalless draw between them.

We thank all teams for their continued commitment and reliability towards the league and wish everyone good luck going into week 3's action with Birmingham's premier providers of small sided football!
