Sunday 24th February - Birmingham Round-Up

Overall it was a good evening's football in the University of Birmingham Sunday 6 a side league, the only disappointment being non-attendances from three teams.  Old Timers FC and X Band 2k16 have been removed from the league immediately whilst Podolskiing will be spoken to accordingly to confirm their return on Sunday 3rd March.

We are pleased to welcome new team 'Itwasonlyasquidge FC' to the Premier Division this week and wish these good luck going into their first fixture on Sunday 3rd February v Dads Army.

We also welcome Lonsdale FC to Division Three and we wish these the best of luck going into their first game on Sunday 3rd February v Dead Ballers FC.

On the pitch there was some fine action which saw D&G United pick up a 5-2 win over Chivas Primera and Dad's Army edge past Tilton Rifles 2-1 in the two Premier Division league games.

Although early, Division One looks like a league that is going to be close all season, four teams are locked on 3 points after two games, all of which kept clean sheets.  SSS FC are top on GD and drew 0-0 with second placed Hungry Boys, whilst Chivas Supplemento and Bartley Reds South both won their games 2-0 against Expected Toulouse and Haoddersfield Town respectively.  The final game of the night was another 0-0 as Sporting Madrid and Six Offenders could not be separated.

Benteke Fried Chicken top Division Two after a 1-0 victory against Leavemyarselona whilst Team A's 2-1 win over Simply Kosher sees them into second.  All other teams have already lost a game in the opening two which makes for an interesting season ahead.

In Division Three, Brian Munich's solid defence saw them sneak past UAE Town by a single goal, their second clean sheet in a row.  Sportugal were 4-0 winners over Orange Tangerines whilst South Birmingham Storm were 2-1 winners against Dead Ballers FC.

Hannover 69 were 3-1 winners over Exeter Gently and Whiligh won by a single goal against Registered Six Defenders.  The other two games finished level as Shovel FC drew 1-1 with Boom Boom Pau, and nothing could separate Che Bois from Put It Up My Brum, 0-0 the full time score.

Tiv Boys and Tekkers-Slovakia lead the way in Division Five with identical records after opening two weeks.  Tiv Boys won 2-0 against FC Third Bar whilst Tekkers were 3-0 victors in their game against Obi 1 Kenobi Nil.  Ayewblindferfuchsake won 3-1 in their game against Tinchy Sneijder whilst Petes Ultimate Team and Rachel Riley played out a 1-1 draw.

Good luck to all teams going into the next round of fixtures with Birmingham's premier provider of small sided football.
