As we near the midway point of the season, the Northampton Sunday 7-a-side league continues to deliver high-octane football. Some more incredible games were on show this week. 

Team Alpha overcame NN Boyz in a tasty clash to dethrone them from second place on the table, and did so comprehensively with a 5-0 win. 

Another major highlight of the week was the clash between Never Back Down FC and table-toppers The Old Firm. Both sides battled it out to their limit, and the result was an enthralling 5-5 draw, allowing Team Alpha to gain on them. 

Retirement Home FC and Real Northants also faced off in another cracking encounter, with the latter prevailing in a solid 6-2 win. Elsewhere, PhatSeshUnited had a points match and received a walkover thanks to a vacant slot in the league.
