MATCH NIGHT REPORT - ROUND 12

Another brilliant night of football under the lights at Waterside tonight.

We started the evening with Inter Mivan v Balotellitubbies. Both sides were looking to add to last weeks great wins with Inter still in the title race. An early red card for Inter affected this game and allowed Balo to press higher up the pitch. A scrappy but great game saw Balo secure victory against the title chasers. 2-1 the final score. Great result for Balo but a huge blow for Inter.

Also at 7 we had Monico v Expected Toulouse. This looked to be a great game and did not disappoint. An end to end fixture saw both sides cancel each other out for the majority of the game. But again Monico showed how clinical they can be at times with another great victory against one of the top sides. 2-1 Monico the final result.

Then at 7:40 we had Biffta take on Johnsons FC. These are 2 sides in different runs of form. After a slow start Biffta were on a great win streak currently whereas Johnsons are without a win in 4. Tonight that run of form continued for both as Biffta cruised to a 6-0 victory. Great win for them that continues to climb them up the table.

Also at 7:40 we had Panashingdon v Benfleet. Another big chance for Panash to keep close eyes on the top of the table, but this wasn’t going to be an easy game. Panash dominated the game for chances but couldn’t break their way through Benfleet’s goalkeeper who put in an amazing performance. The game was 1-1 with 5 mins to go but a last minute goal from Panash secured them a 2-1 victory to keep the title race well and truly alive.

Then at 8:20 we had Neil v Coming Home. Neil looked to be back to their best ahead of tonight and if on top form had a chance of finishing this one off early. Well that’s exactly what they did. 8-0 at HT saw this game finished before it had even started. Neil were ruthless and bagged 13 in total. Tough night for Coming Home.

Our final game was Range Rovers v Show me the Mane. Both sides were in a poor run of form and had the chance to pick up some points tonight. Rovers showed exactly what they are capable of with a very impressive performance. Perry and Kane led the way with a hat-trick and secured their side a 7-0 victory.

Thanks for all teams for turning up tonight and again showing why our league is so competitive.

I want to personally say thank you to all players/teams who have taken part in our leagues the last 2 years over at Waterside. As you know tonight was my last night in charge but it’s been a pleasure to get to know you all on a personal level and see you play the game we love. I wish you all the best for the remainder of the season and I’m sure our paths will cross again. Olly.
