MATCH NIGHT REPORT - ROUND 3

Tonight saw the return of our Thursday night league after a weeks break due to pitch maintenance.

We started the night with Benfleet v Monico. Benfleet have had a tough start to the new campaign but always seem to play well against these boys. Monico had a strong side out to try and secure the points. Benfleet looked as if they were again going to grab a surprise win after taking a 2-0 lead but Monico pulled this back and the game finished level. 2-2 the final result in this one.

Also at 7PM we had Balotellitubbies v Biffta. Always a great game between these two with both sides liking to get the ball moving at a fast pace. Biffta have had a tough start to the new season but did a brilliant job tonight and secured a solid 2-0 victory. Tough night for Balo.

Then at 7:40 we had Coming Home v Johnsons FC. Johnsons were looking to continue from last weeks great result whereas Coming Home were looking for their first victory. A solo masterclass from Owen Bellamy was the difference in this one and secured a 4-3 victory for Johnsons. Coming Home had real sparks in this game but we’re unable to make them all count.

Also at 7:40 we had Inter Mivan v Expected Toulouse. Both sides were in good form and were looking to add to last weeks positive results. But tonight was Inter’s night as Harley secured another hat-trick in a 6-1 victory.

At 8:20 we had Neil FC v Show me the Mane. Always a tough game and the first chance of a game against the champions for Mane. Neil did what they always do and showed no mercy whatsoever. A rampant 12-0 victory with Harry Herbert adding another 4 goals to his already impressive tally to see Neil stay top of the league on GD and not conceding a single goal yet.

Our last game was Range Rovers v Panashingdon. The new boys were 2 for 2 and were looking to be seen as secret contenders before the night began. A strong Rovers side tonight made life incredibly difficult and Rovers took an amazing 4-0 lead before half time. A real shock to the system for the new boys. The 2nd half saw them improve but there was not enough time as Rovers held out for a 4-2 victory.

Another hugely entertaining night at Waterside with some great results for certain teams. See you all back over at Waterside same time next week to do it all over again!
