Hull Monday 6-a-side league: Results recap

30/05/2022

Solid defensive displays were a theme of this week's matches in the Hull 6-a-side Monday league at the Wolfreton School pitches, with an unprecedented amount of clean sheets.

The Premier League action began with Stroke Titty climbing into the top two, outclassing Bumbaclarts 7-0 in a super showing. Tripe FC claimed a narrow 1-0 win over Crystal Meth Palace, while the leaders Willerby Warriors keep inching closer to the title as they received a walkover due to Corey FC's unavailability.

They played a friendly against Division 2 side Fenerbackache as a result, who, in their official match had a walkover as well. Remember you can pay and play as usual too even when your team doesn't have an official game! Just turn up and enjoy a fun friendly against another available opponent on the day.

In the rest of Div 2, Barely Athletic rolled on atop the standings with a 6-0 beating of Punisher to secure promotion, while second-placed 7 Men No Cups won 4-0 against Renford Rejects. The race for the title and promotion is just about alive.

As for Division 1, Only Matip In FC pulled off a shock result, holding second-placed Virgins On Tour to a 1-1 draw, and the result repeated as Puff Daddy FC held the leaders Smart Dogs in a stalemate as well. With two games to go, the race for promotion is still alive and kicking between the top three, but the top two are in control of their destiny.
