Sunday League News

We are well and truly into the business end of the season now, and there is still a lot to play for.  Last night was a mixed bag all round, bright spells, torrential showers, wins, losses and draws!

Premier League

Groggy Season hold fast at the top of the League as they push to take the title.  This became a step closer last night as they took a well earned 2-0 win over their closest rival, Murder on Zidanes Floor.

Tekker Slovakia remain in third after dropping points to the new comers Ivory Toast.  It was a well played out game from both sides, but in the end Tekker could not com back from behind.

Nuts United trade places on the table with Woddworks this week, following Nuts' 2-2 draw with The Good, The Bad and The Ugly and Woodworks' 1-0 loss to The Squirells.

With two weeks to go there is plenty to play for here, at this point nothing is certain.

Division 1

Nuts United B secured the title this week with two matches to spare, following a convincing 5-3 win over Net Six and Chill.

CONGRATULATIONS NUTS UNITED B

Academicals return to second spot after an 8-1 drumming of West Ham Egg N Chips.  However, this is a hotly contested spot too as Net Six and Chamakh Sit on the same points, with goal difference separating the three.

So, Chamakh drop to 4th on the table after a 4-1 defeat at the hands of a well organised Expected Toulouse.

AFC Dry Lunch climb again this week, after a cool 3-1 win against Hungarians & Co.  Hungarians appear to be settling into the league now, and are one to watch next season.

Division 2

A topsy turvey night in the division with, it has to be said some rather unpredictable results.

Firstly Bayer Neverlusen drop to an unfamiliar 3rd place after facing off against Chancers and coming away without a goal. Chancers however bagged a brace and took the win.

With No Cabbages taking a 7-1 win over Real Lee Sheet, 99 Problems needed a win to keep ahead of pace.  As it turns out the pressure was too much and a well organisded Mercury Town smashed home two early goals and then sat back and soaked up the pressure.  Mercury Town took the 2-0 win.  Mercury Town are another team settling in well to the league, having held Bayer to a goal less draw last week, and this week beating the league leaders!! One to watch here.

Fedup United returned this week after a welcoming loss handed to them in the previous fixture.  This week they faced Virgins FC and it was a well played out fixture, with some heroic Goalkeeping displays throughout. The final result here Fedup 5-0 Virgins.

Division 3

BENTEKE TAKE THE TITLE!!

Benteke Fried Chicken, still unbeaten this season have also secured the title with two matches to spare. CONGRATULATIONS Lads!

Elsewhere SW Dons were welcomed to their first League Fixture by Weston Warriors.  This was a GOAL FEST, and easily the result of the night, as Weston Warriors slammed home NINE goals without response from SW Dons.

Jewventus secure the second spot in the division with a well worked 2-0 win over Lets be Havin You.  Well Done Juventus, a GREAT season for you lads.

Finally, Where are All The Wags!! met Hamstrung in a face off that is always a good game to watch.  This time around it was Wags that took the glory with a narrow 3-2 win.
