Sunday League Highlights - The end is nigh

It was the penultimate week of the Sunday season and all to play for in the mild conditions.  Despite some wind coming later in the evening, the conditions were perfect for football.

Premier League

With a VERY LATE cancellation Murder on Zidanes floor handed a Points Match win to Woodworks.

Congratulations to GROGGY SEASON, who have secured the Premier League title for the season, as they took a 2-0 win over Ivory toast.  With a match to spare they take bragging rights and a choice of the prize. They have built on from last seasons performance and done enough  this time around.  Well Done lads, we will be in touch.

Last season's Champions Tekker Slovakia have climbed to second, after beating Nuts 4-2 in a passionate display of football from both teams.  We will have to wait until next week to see if they can hold on and come away with something from this season.

In the final match in the Premier League, The Squirrels met with The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.  The Squirells managing to squeeze two inside the near post and beating the keeper, while The Good, The Bad and The Ugly only managed to slot one between the sticks.

Division 1

Division 1 Champions Nuts United B kept up the pace as they met AFC Dry Lunch and kept an impressive record with a 4-1 win.

Academicals remain second, but the goal difference gap is closing, with Net Six and Chill chasing.  Academicals took an impressive 9-2 win over Hungarians & Co. while Net Six and Chill also had a big score in reply, in their 8-2 win over Expected Toulouse.

Chamkah My Pitch up took on West Ham Egg N Chips in a tit for tat match up that was end to end throughout.  The result went to West Ham and took the game out 4-3.

Division 2

The top 3 could still go either way, Bayer Neverlusen in 3rd, with a 6-2 win over Virgins F.C are chasing the top 2.  The final week of the season sees Bayer Neverlusen taking on the league leaders 99 Problems in a near carbon copy of the previous season.  This will be interesting to say the least!

No Cabbages are still in the mix also, currently sitting second after their 6-3 win over Fedup United.

Mercury Town continue to build after their late entry to the League.  This week a 1-0 win, with a goal scored on the last kick of the game against Real Lee Sheet.

SO all eyes turn to two matches in the final week of the season in this division.  With 99 Problems facing off against Bayer Neverlusen, and No Cabbages taking on Chancers.

Division 3

League leaders Benteke Fried Chicken, unbeaten as they arrived on the field, were to meet Weston Warriors, who have made a habit recently of taking down the big names, to maintain their assault on the title.  Once again however, Warriors were in form and took another scalp as they won 2-1 and handed the leader their first loss of the season.

The result of the night, again, goes to Jewventus, who seem to be building steadily in recent weeks, as they took a 13-0 win over SW Dons.

Ninja Skrtels returned and met Where are all the Wags!!, and took a 3-1 win to climb to 5th on the ladder.

The final match to report is Lets Be Havin You and Hamstung.  The young guns 'Lets Be Havin You' taking the fixture by the scruff of the neck and winning 5-0 at the final whistle.

So, it all culminates next Sunday, I am looking forward to seeing how this one turns out.  I'll see you there!!
