Thursday News - Match Week 4

After a stunning day in Weston I was looking forward to a mild night of football at Worle.  As the sun disappeared, so did the temperature and it turned out to be another chilly one on the night.

First of all we announce the departure of AC Me Rolling from the League, but, never fear, we welcome back Inter Ur Nans to take their place.

We also welcomed this week The Armada.

Premier League

Robben me Blind, whose first season in the top flight continues to be a successful one, sit at the top of the tree with 4 wins from 4 as they took down Premier League stalwarts Francesco Shotti with a rather impressive 5-2 win.

Sex, Drugs and Carlton Cole climb to a familiar second spot, after last night's convincing 4-0 win over Six Offenders, the latter having faced a tough opening run of fixtures this season.

Moves Like Agger are chasing though, with only goals scored, holding them back from the place above.  They welcomed Inter Ur Nans back to Leisure Leagues by putting a hat-trick between the sticks without response.

Chicken Tikka Mo - Salah sit in a rather unfamiliar 4th spot, having only chalked up 2 wins from 4 so far this season.  Last night they could only manage a 1-1 draw with Scoops FC in a match that required some cool heads.

Finally, My Little Bony climb the ladder to 5th after a high tempo match with Milan.  End to end action here also, with goals galore, as the final result finished an impressive 5-2, to My Little Bony.

Division 1

Ruud van Nipplejoy sit at the top of the tree, but only by a +1 better goal difference from the team they faced last night Shooter Tooters.  This match up is always high paced and something of a spectacle.  At the final whistle this time it was Shooter Totters that edged the win 3-2.

Adam Johnson's sit third, but again, only goal difference separating them from the top spot. They met the experienced Lucky Punts in this week's fixture.  Despite some real heroics from the Lucky Punts keeper Adam Johnson's managed to squeeze 3 between the sticks.  Final result here 3-1.

Bareley Athletic step up, as they took a points match win, due to a late cancellation.  Six Offenders filled in and both teams certainly seemed to enjoy themselves keeping our 'Ball Boy' busy for the night.

Karius to Glory also climb, as they took a narrow victory over MFC.  Only 1 goal to report in this match and it came from the victors, Karius to Glory.

Finally, Geriatricos welcomed our new team The Armada to Leisure Leagues.  What a game this proved to be.  High intensity, high tempo, end to end action, with goals seemingly coming every few minutes.  The Final result here at the whistle was 6-4 to Geriatricos.

4 weeks into an extended season and there is still all to play for.  I think the bigger divisions are creating a more varied match schedule and providing a real mix of results.

See you next week!!
