Thursday League News Update

Re-scheduled 11 a side games are still wreaking havoc around town, with players racing from one to the other, or missing out on 6 a side league fixtures all together.  Word is, that these matches are almost at their conclusion, so we hope to be back to normal ASAP!

Premier League

The early opener tonight saw Inter Ur Nans square up to My Little Bony. It was a tight match throughout with end to end action.  This time around Inter Ur Nans squeezed a winner home and took the fixture 2-1. Inter Ur Nans are now beginning to settle into the rhythm again after their brief hiatus.

Elsewhere, Chicken Tikka Mo-Salah remain a solid second on the ladder as they took out a 5-1 win over Six Offenders.  One point ahead, Robben Me Blind remain top of the pack after another win.  This time it was Moves Like Agger that suffered at the the hand of an impressive Robben Me Blind. 2-0 the final result.

Scoops FC and Milan faced off, both teams short on numbers and playing out a 5 a side game.  Scoops FC though, still a strong competitor, taking the fixture 6-0.

Finally, Francesco Shotti and Sex, Drugs and Carlton Cole took to the park, it was a clash of epic proportions.  Both teams searching to find a way through and get something for their efforts.  However, it wasn't to be for either team, as, at the final whistle it was a goalless draw.  A fair result I would have said based on the match I saw!

Division 1

Geriatricos move to the top of the tree!!  After another brilliant game of football and coming from behind with two late goals, Geriatricos took the glory, all all the points in a 4-3 win over Ruud Van Nipplejoy.

Despite a 2-1 win over Bareley Athletic, Shooter Tooters remain in 4th place on the table, with only goal difference separating them from MFC, who picked up a Points Match win as Adam Johnson's failed to show.

Karius to Glory remain in 6th, again despite taking a win last night.  They faced the new boys on the block Cumin Zyder, and managed a 3-2 win to boost their season.

Lucky Punts climb to 7th after taking a point from their game with The Armada.  Yet another Goalless draw here with neither team managing to find the back of the net and break the deadlock.

SO, another great week of football at Leisure Leagues and the tight scores keep rolling in, which means, we hope we have found a balance in each division to provide more competition.  The tables are tight and there is, of course, all to play for.
