All Change!!

The afternoon rain cleared in time for kick off, but left in its wake a slippery surface for teams to navigate in week 13 of the season.  It was a humid night with some great results, excellent football and positive atmosphere.

Premier League

The top 3 teams are now only split by goal difference as the race to the title heats up.

Chicken Tikka Mo-Salah, returning from a week long stag event overseas, found the pace of My Little Bony tough to deal with.  It was a tightly fought encounter, with both teams looking to stamp some dominance on the fixture.  They battled hard throughout, but neither could take the glory as the match ended in a deadlock at 2-2.

The result left the door ajar for Robben Me Blind and Sex, Drugs and Carlton Cole to close the gap.  Both did this in their own way.  Robben me Blind romping home and gathering some goal difference with a 8-1 thumping of Six Offenders.  Sex, Drugs and Carlton Cole edging Scoops FC in a 3-2 face off.

Milan played out the early fixture with Inter Ur Nans taking an 8-2 goal fest win and climb a spot on the ladder.  A return to form seems to be on the cards.

The game of the night however, was a 4-4 THRILLER between Moves Like Agger and Francesco Shotti.  It was goals galore and an action packed fixture.  Despite being devoid of a trained Goalkeeper, Shotti managed to keep the pace with Agger and level the score throughout the fixture.  WHAT A GAME!!!

Division 1

Geriatricos return to the top of the table and bounce back from their defeat last week with style, as they took out a 6-2 win over Lucky Punts. National Team of the Week, Geriatricos seemed boosted by their recent fame and turned on the form for tonight to reclaim the League Leaders spot in the division.

Ruud Van Nipplejoy also climb, now sitting second, just 1 point adrift of the title after smashing home 8 goals in an 8-2 thriller with Cumin Zyder.

Shooter Tooters drop to Third after a somewhat out of the ordinary defeat, at the hands of The Armada. 4-0 the result here as The Armada now seem to have settled into the Leisure Leagues rhythm.

Newcomers Touch of The Dutch turned out in droves, showing their commitment to the League.  It was however a tough first outing for the lads, as they learn the ropes of Leisure Leagues football.  Karius to Glory taught them a thing or two with a 6-0 drumming.  WATCH THIS SPACE however, as we often see this with new teams, it takes a few weeks to settle before the results come....

Finally, Bareley Athletic and MFC went head to head.  These teams are well known to each other and play together regularly.  So, it wasn't just points on offer tonight, it was bragging rights too!  In the end it was just a point for both, as the fixture ended 1-1 at the final whistle.

All in all, is was a really good night of football, and as the league hots up, and Football Fever commences with the World Cup starting, we can't wait to see how this one pans out!!

See you all next week.
