Monday 25th October - Worthing Round-Up

It was a good evening's football in the Worthing Monday 6 a side league this week with all teams in attendance throughout the night as scheduled, and some entertaining matches played across all four divisions.

The Premier Division title race was blown wide open this week as MK's Dons suffered a 5-3 defeat at the hands of third placed Chiellini Con Carne, who move themselves to within two points of pole position with two to play, whilst second placed FC Big Wangs were 5-4 winners over Packet Inn to put themselves just a point off the pace.  The final two weeks of the season look exciting with three teams separated by just two points!

Sevilla Autism's promotion from Division One was finally confirmed this week, and they did so in style, thrashing new team Goring By Suiii 7-0 meaning they cannot drop out of the top two.  The title race however is still very much alive, with Hakuna Juan Mata just a point off the top after they came out on top in a 13 goal thriller, winning 7-6 against Suzanne's Toy Boys.  All The Gear No Idea stay in third but barring a miracle will be playing Division One football again next season, this after a thrilling game in which they shared the spoils against Selden Park Rangers, in a game which ended 4 a piece.

In Division Two, Borussia Munchonflapjack were held to a 3-3 draw in an entertaining encounter with Bowen Balcony FC, they remain at the top of the table but the gap between them and second placed Asthma FC reduces to a solitary point as they were 3-1 winners over Pukki 22.  Wet Ass Pukki cannot get promoted this season but move up to third place and will be looking to finish as high as possible, they were 5-1 victors over Expected Toulouse this week, whilst LA Dairy Milk climbed out of the bottom two with a thrilling 5-4 victory over Havana Club.  Uniquely, five teams are in the mix for the final relegation spot in this division with 2 to play.

Arseanal all but sealed promotion from Division Three with a 2-1 victory over Borden's Angels, just one more point will confirm this for them in the final two games.  Murder on Zidane's Floor were 6-1 winners over Disunited to narrowly hold on to second spot, whilst Cream of the South sit on their tails following their 7-2 victory against Degree Six Recruitment.

We have taken the decision to remove Degree Six Recruitment from the league with immediate effect, this follows violent conduct displayed by one of their players this week, and repeated poor conduct despite previous warnings.  We will not tolerate this behaviour within our leagues.

We are delighted to welcome new team Not So Athletic to the league as a replacement for the above, and wish these good luck going into their first fixture on Monday 1st November.
