Sunday 25th March - Worthing Round-Up

It was another fantastic evening's football in the Worthing Sunday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance for their matches as scheduled and some well competed games played throughout the night across all three divisions.  The only exception was Coman Her Face who will be spoken to and confirmed to return on Sunday 2nd April.

New team Foreigners had a tough opening game in the Premier Division as they faced leaders Fatzio who had a 100% record going into the game.  The top side showed no weakness and romped to an 8-0 win over the new boys who will be looking to get a feel for the league a bit more in the coming weeks.  Second placed She Was Only XI recorded a 3-2 win over The Rebels in a well competed game as they look to have sewn up that position.  Elsewhere TTM FC and Tutt Experience shared a point apiece in an entertaining 2-2 draw.

There was a huge result at the top of Division One this week as Bobby Carlos went to the top of the table as they edged out Real Le Sheet 3-2 in the battle of the top two.  Both look to be promoted already but this is a big step in the title race.  Third placed Jong HSG continue to dig in though in their quest to nick a promotion spot, a 2-0 win for them over Chicken Tikka Mo Salah keeps them with an outside chance of breaking into the top two.  Sompting Dragons move up to fourth place as their season peters out into mid-table mediocrity, they will be looking to finish as high as they can though, a 2-1 win over Unnamed FC boosts them in this ambition.  Elsewhere Inter Ya Nan moved three clear of the drop zone thanks to a 5-2 win over bottom team Hakuna Juan Mata.

The Division Two leaders Mambo No 5 got a 5-0 walkover this week owing to their opponents not attending, keeping them two points clear of second placed Khedira Pin Drop who were 3-2 winners against Badabing Boys.  Third placed Defeatables promotion hopes took a major knock as they were beaten 1-0 by Maradona Kebab in a shock result,  Completing the action was Hairline FC who recovered from last weeks debut defeat as they got an impressive 5-1 win against Cheeky Blinders.

We thank all teams for their continued reliability and commitment to the league and wish all good luck going into the next round of fixtures with Worthing's premier providers of small sided football.
