FOOTBALL LEAGUE WEEK 9: THRILLING MATCHES KEEP FANS ON EDGE
This week's 6-a-side Guernsey Wednesday Football League was nothing short of intense as teams clashed in the Premier League, Division 1, and Division 2, showcasing their skills, strategy, and willpower to secure victories.
In the Premier League, the evening kicked off with an exciting match between Bossolona and Los Diablos, with the latter edging out a win with a 1-0 scoreline. Too Many Flutes FC also claimed victory against Donky Tree with another close score of 1-0. The most nail-biting match of the division, however, was between Tonys Tackle Factory and Substandard Liege, with Substandard walking away victorious with a 2-1 score.
Division 1 saw a mix of high scoring and tight matches. Egg Fried Reus triumphed over Jager Sinkers with a dominant 4-1 victory. One Foot In The Grave managed to score an impressive 5 goals against Bitcoin, taking the match 5-2. Baines On Toast and Gash Galvanisers battled to a 1-1 draw, while Afro Stars narrowly defeated Brentford Rejects 1-0.
In Division 2, Guernsey Academicals made a statement with a 3-0 win over Purple Reign. Cherry-Poppers managed to take a 2-1 victory against AAFC and First Class Ballers showed their prowess by trouncing Valpys FC, 5-1. One of the most thrilling matches of the week, Ran Out Of Mane and Who Ate All Depays, ended with a 4-3 victory in favour of Ran Out Of Mane. Football Club FC finished the night with an impressive win against Only Put Matip In, scoring 5 goals to 1.
Unfortunately, the top scorers for each division were not provided. Nevertheless, the week was filled with thrilling matches and we can't wait to see how the rest of the season unfolds.
