And the new season is under way!

We are back with another new season at The Vyne, which kicked off on Monday night. We also introduce multiple new teams to the league looking to prove themselves against our previous league winners.

Let's have a look at the first weeks action in both divisions and see if our new teams impressed enough to get themselves mentioned.

PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM OFF THE WEEK!

Our brand new team Notinyourmumsforest had to take our first 'team of the week' this season and after beating one of our previous Premier League leaders - Sherborne Masters 6-4 after only their 2nd game in the league, we felt they were deservedly winners of this weeks bragging rights. Our referees have made comments both weeks that they are a team made of very good technical players and after a few weeks of learning the "6-a-side" way, will become a very decent team. We all look forward to seeing how they progress in their first season. With 2 wins from 2, we have very high expectation from these boys.

DIVISION ONE TEAM OF THE WEEK!

WELL WHAT AN INCREDIBLE TURN AROUND FOR ASTROWORLDIES!!! These guys have gone from finishing bottom of the league last season with 3 points and now started their brand new campaign off with a 9-1 win and sitting top of the league! I don't know what they've done, but its really paid off for them. We never thought we would see Astroworldies sitting at the top of the table. Watching them play now compared to their first game is extremely impressive and I can barely believe it's the same players in this team. They have improved in every single aspect of the pitch, their movement on and off the ball has been largely the reason for their improvement, but they also appear to have swapped conceding goals, to scoring them and what an improvement it's been for them. Lets hope they can continue this form going forward!

DIVISION ONE MOTM!

Adam Bowman - Man Chest Hair United - Had a very quiet previous season and only received 1 MOTM to his name, so what a great start this is. He had a good game to start the season, getting himself a few goals to ensure his team came from behind and claimed the win.

Jack Mcgregor - Astroworldies - Jack had a brilliant game, helping himself to a good share of goals in his first game of the new season. Jack has managed to get himself named MOTM a good amount of times in recent weeks now and is part of a much improving side.
