A CHRISTMAS CRACKER?

“So this is Christmas and what have you done” Asked John Lennon once.

Whatever he was getting at, in 1971 when he released the song,  he probably didn’t get envisage someone getting his hands in a chicken in the name of a Facebook challenge or trying to break a world record for eating the most amount of mince pies ever in a minute – and he most definitely never wore a suit like our presenter Tom did yesterday.

2018 has been the year of the Leisure Leagues prize draw. It started in the spring, and has become a fixture each month. Yesterday was the last until 2019 and was probably the most madcap yet.

You can watch on in awe as Senior League Manager, Shaun tries valiantly to conquer the mince pies, and you can sympathise with John and Adam as they get to grips with a variety of food from raw chicken (the turkey had all been gobbled up….) to Cranberry Sauce, and you too can marvel that aforementioned suit (and yes, Tom really brought that from home!)

In amongst all this festive frivolity we got on with the serious business of giving out some prizes – and despite Tom’s best efforts (he gave the winners a Christmas bonus second spin) the £12,000 star prize of a holiday to Germany, courtesy of UHLSPORT, remained unclaimed).

As always, it wasn’t just the teams that benefited, and some of the audience received giveaways just for watching, including the coveted Leisure Leagues Christmas Hamper and some Fifa points.
