KM FC Take The Early Lead As Effingham 5 a side Kicks Off In Style

There are many ways to throw down a marker at the start of a new season, and KM FC did exactly that as the Effingham 5 a side League kicked off last night.

Ethan Parker starred for the young Surrey side as they saw off Twenty Three FC by an 8-3 margin to start in real style.

Rand FC (pictured) were the night’s other big victors, marching KM’s (pictured below) feat and knocking in a magnificent eight of their own in their game with That’ll Pla – who showed their class and notched five in a real ding-dong encounter.

Maddox Farm underlined their abilities too, and ran out 4-0 winners against Light Work, but as Leisure Leagues’ Sam jones put it, the night was about more than football: “It is just brilliant to be able to bring the Leisure Leagues brand here for the first time, and to give all these players in Effingham the chance to play in the best league network there is.”

Sam was in no doubt that the league would become a regular feature of life in the town and added: “That’s always what we aim to do, to become a real community hub, and all the signs are that this is what it is going to be in Effingham. It will go from strength to strength, I have absolutely no doubt.”

The games art King George V Playing Fields resume this weekend KM looking to continue their form against That’ll Pla and Rand aiming to do likewise against YWTA in what appears to be potentially the game of the day.
