MACCLESFIELD 6 A SIDE CELEBRATES WITH INCREDIBLE FINISH

Almost exactly two years after its first kick off, the latest season of the official 6-a-side league in Macclesfield came to a thrilling conclusion last night, with Bantalona crowned as champions of the Premier League. Jasmin Juicemakers squeezed in as runners-up, beating Allmand-Smith Army 2-1.

Ji-Sung Park The Bus and Class Of 22 were both successful in their quest for promotion to the top division, finishing as winners and runners-up in Division One, respectively. Meanwhile, High Peak Hill Billies and AJU16 had already secured promotion in Division Two, with the latter prevailing by the odd goal in a 7-goal thriller to secure bragging rights as they faced off together on the last day.

Adam Glover, the Area Manager for Leisure Leagues, congratulated the teams and praised the facilities at Macclesfield Football Club. Glover said, “The standard of play in the Macclesfield 6-a-side league continues to impress me. The facilities at Macclesfield Football Club are top-notch, and the matches are always played in a friendly but competitive spirit. Congratulations to Bantalona on their Premier League victory, and well done to all the other teams who took part this season.”

Glover also congratulated the Macclesfield FC Director of Football, Robbie Savage, and Owner, Rob Smethurst, on their team’s second promotion in two years, adding that their success has been a source of pride for the town.

The Macclesfield 6-a-side league has been a popular fixture in the town’s sporting calendar for over two years, as it grew after lockdown. Adam, who has managed the league for all that time, said: “As the season comes to a close, we look forward to another exciting season of 6-a-side football in Macclesfield, and we congratulate all the teams who took part, as well the brilliant referee team.”

With the league attracting players of all abilities from across the region, it’s a great opportunity to test your skills against some of the best amateur players in the area and make new friends.

Leisure Leagues are hoping to expand the competition to include everyone on the waiting list, and teams and individuals are welcome to sign up for next season using the link
