The firm behind the biggest 6 a side leagues in Tamworth, is celebrating the recent success of Tamworth FC, who won the Southern League Premier Division on Saturday – and promised to continue the football feel-good factor in the town.

The leagues, which are run by Leisure Leagues and takes place at Tamworth FC’s home ground of The Lamb, offers a variety of 6 a side football leagues for players 16 or over regardless of their abilities.

“We are delighted to congratulate Tamworth FC on their stunning victory,” said Greg Allen, Area Manager for Leisure Leagues. “It is a great achievement for the club and a testament to the hard work and dedication of all involved. We are proud to be associated with Tamworth FC and we look forward to continue our partnership with them in the future.”

Tamworth won the league on goal-difference from Coalville, after they beat Redditch 3-0 away, while Coalville secured a 3-1 victory over Stourbridge. The Tamworth 6 a side League is held at The Lamb on Sunday and Monday evenings, and are similarly shaping up to be as exciting, with Greg adding: “The Sunday league has three games to go and there are just three points separating the top three sides.”

The league is open to players of all abilities and there is no need to be a member of a team to join. Players can simply sign up as an individual and be placed on a team with other players of a similar ability.

“We are always looking for new players to join our league,” said Allen. “We offer a welcoming, inclusive environment and we are sure that players across the area have been enjoying the competitions since the late 90s. We are delighted to see football thrive in the town.”
