The Seven Leagues Of Christmas

In 2020 good news has been in short supply, but we have got plenty to celebrate this week as at least seven new leagues are kicking off.

The end of lockdown has signalled a deluge of new teams, with hundreds of community footballers signing up and being given the chance to get vital fitness and camaraderie that they have missed over the last few months.

That has meant that this week, we are starting an unprecedented seven new leagues.

Two of them have already kicked off, the Oadby and Portishead (pictured) competitions last night, with two more tonight as we expand our exclusive deal with Sixways Stadium in Worcester, and also get going in Chatteris, as Cambridgeshire joins the biggest football family on the planet.

On Tuesday it is the turn of Dover, and on Wednesday another seaside town benefits, this time Scarborough in North Yorkshire, as we kick off at the brilliant Sports Village.

On Thursday, we complete the set, with Dorchester – and the amazing 1610 venue – is the location for another incredible community league.

But that’s not all. We have two leagues ready to go in Scotland and another pair in Ireland, depending on lockdown situations in both countries.

New Business Manager, Ben Schumann said it was testament to everything the company had to offer and added: “The increase in teams has been amazing and just shows that we were right to put so much pressure on government to get leagues back on. Hopefully people are realising now just how important these community leagues are to people everywhere. They really are a centrepiece for people’s weeks and it is magnificent to see everyone playing again.
