Monday 10th January - Cannock League Round-Up

It was a good evening's football in the Cannock Monday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance throughout the night barring two, Dominos and Demba 9 Bar will be spoken to accordingly and confirmed to return to action on Monday 17th January.

We were pleased to welcome new team Beacon Bombs to the league this week, they played out an entertaining first match in which they lost out 4-3 to Only Put Matip In, they will be looking to build on this as they get used to the league moving forward.

In the Premier Division, Beaky Blinders 3-0 win over Thiago X Silva was enough to see them sneak to the top of the Premier Division table, ahead of Harchester United who also won, 2-1 over Aston Villagers, one goal separates the top two at present.  Elsewhere Cannock Young Boys put in an impressive performance as they ran out 5-2 winners over Sporting Bad Haircuts, whilst Club Bates moved up to sixth spot with a 4-2 win over strugglers Karius to Glory.

The top two teams in Division One picked up 5-0 walkovers this week so it is as you were there.  Peasports moved into third position though as they won an entertaining encounter against Borussia Teeth by a 4-2 score line, they now lead the three teams locked on 8 points in the table, the third one being Athletico Gem Carpets who's impressive start to the season has faltered in the last two games, they suffered a second successive defeat as they were beaten 2-0 by The Arcade Cannock.   Bridge Rejects completed the action in the middle division, as they won their second game in a row following a tough start to the season, this week saw them pick up an impressive 6-0 victory over Alisson Wonderland.

Division Two is led by PG who were winners again this week, their fifth win on the bounce was a thrilling game though, as they ran out 9-5 winners over Expected Toulouse!  Red Hot Chilli Knackers stay in second spot as they were 3-1 winners in their match against Pathetico Madrid.  The Special Ones and River Plate remain level on points in third and fourth, and they couldn't be separated in their meeting this week, 2-2 the final score in a thoroughly entertaining encounter.  Harriers moved up to fifth place in the table following their impressive 6-0 win over strugglers Lallanas In Pyjamas.
