Monday 10th October - Cannock Round-Up

It was a good evening's football in the Cannock Monday 6 a side league this week overall, which saw all teams in attendance for their matches throughout the night, the only exception being Cannockbis Dank Council who will be spoken to accordingly to confirm their return on Monday 17th October.

Premier Division leaders River Plate continue their impressive campaign as they lead the way since promotion, they were 6-2 winners over Athletico Gem Carpets this week in another well drilled performance.  Second placed Skillage In The Village remain on their tails ahead of next weeks meeting between the top two, they were rampant 9-3 winners over FC Crown who'd won every game since joining up until that point.  Aston Villagers moved up to third place and above Harchester United in the table after they were 2-1 winners in the meeting of the two this week.

In a night of well competed games in Division One, SBFC VI got a vital win to keep their place at the top of the pile as they won an eight goal thriller against Bridge Rejects by 5 goals to 3, keeping them ahead on goal difference of second placed Sporting Bad Haircuts, who ground out a 2-1 win over Borussia Teeth.  Sevilla Depression remain in third place but lost ground on the top two places this week as they had to settle for a point in a game that ended 2-2 with Tekkerslovakia.  Madeleine Milan moved off the foot of the table as they bid for survival this term, they won 3-1 against Karius To Glory in a hotly competed game.

Division Two leaders Barsportelona were held to a 2-2 draw against Harriers, but remain three points clear of second place which is now occupied by The Special Ones after they ran out narrow 2-1 winners over Allison Wonderland.  Third placed Just Matip lost ground on the promotion places as they were held to a surprise 1-1 draw against bottom side Baines on Toast.  Completing the division's action was new boys Rugeley Massive who joined the league this week, playing out a nine goal thriller in their first game which they eventually lost 5-4 to Thiago X Silva.

Division Three's leaders Arcade Cannock played new boys Jerry Hattricks this week and brushed past the new side by a 6-1 scoreline to keep their place at the summit, whilst second placed The Swan FC lost ground on the leaders as they shared the spoils with Koch In Dias which ended 2-2, they did however move a further point clear of third placed Beacon Bombs who suffered a 4-0 reverse at the hands of Red Hot Chilli Knackers, who moved above Lallanas In Pyjamas in the table after they were thrashed 8-1 by Pathetico Madrid.
