Monday 13th February - Cannock Round-Up

It was another good evening's football in the Cannock Monday 6 a side league this week with all 32 teams in attendance for their matches as scheduled and some fantastic games on display across all four divisions!

In the Premier Division, Skillage In the Village put in a solid performance as the top two met, putting themselves four points clear of second placed Harchester United and in the driving seat for the title race as they were 2-0 victors in a well competed encounter.  Elsewhere third placed Aston Villagers won an eight goal thriller over BarSportelona which finished 5-3.  Gem Carpets also moved on to ten points as the fourth placed team put in a dominant performance over Bridge Rejects to run out 5-0 winners.  The action was completed by another goal fest, in which Foley Kings ran out 5-4 victors against Neville Wears Prada in another fantastic encounter.

On to Division One, where there were some big results in terms of the promotion race this week, leaders Sevilla Depression came from a goal down to run out comfortable 5-1 winners against Harriers as they look to be over the hills in the promotion race.  Tekkerslovakia climbed into second place albeit on goal difference as they leapfrogged Sporting Bad Haircuts into second place, beating them 4-2 in a well competed match!  Karius To Glory's promotion hopes took a dent as they lost by a single goal to Smokehouse Athletic in another hotly contested encounter, whilst Thiago X Silva climbed out of the drop zone at the expense of Socks whom they beat 2-0.

Madeleine Milan moved two points clear at the summit of Division Two as the top two before kick off met, they edged out The Swan FC in a game that ended 2-1, dropping the Swan FC to third as Arcade Cannock were 6-3 winners over Special Ones in a superb performance which moves them into second place, dropping the latter into fifth.  Allison Wonderland moved into fourth position and two points off the promotion spots as they were comfortable 3-0 victors against Xavi Dodgers.  The action in the division was completed by ADI Cannock who claimed their first win since joining the league, they were comfortable 6-1 winners against It Was Just Matip.

Division Three sees the top two remain unchanged as both got wins this week.  Leaders Red Hot Chilli Knackers were 4-2 winners over Pathetico Madrid, whilst Koch In Dias secured a convincing 5-0 victory over Set 8 Ballers.  Beacon Bombs moved up to third place in the table with a 2-1 victory over Ayden B, leapfrogging Pathetico Madrid in the table where the top four are now separated by only three points.  Well done to Gangsters Allardyce, who got their first victory of the campaign since joining, winning a ten goal thriller against Lallanas in Pyjamas by a 6-4 scoreline.
