Monday 14th March - Cannock Round-Up

It was a good evening's football in the Cannock Monday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance throughout the night as scheduled, and some excellent matches played throughout the night!

Leaders Harchester United suffered their second defeat in three this week as they were soundly beaten 3-1 by Aston Villagers.  The form team Skillage In The Village can smell blood as they moved to within a single point after putting together an incredible run of results since a poor start to the campaign, an 8-1 thrashing of Nice to Michu their seventh win on the spin and eleventh unbeaten, bringing them right back into the title race!

Beaky Blinders remain in third and on the periphery of the top two, they were 6-3 winners of an entertaining game against Thiago X Silva this week, whilst mid-table Sporting Bad Haircuts moved level on points with Cannock Young Boys who they edged past 2-1 this week.  Elsewhere Karius To Glory and Club Bates couldn't be separated as the two shared a point a piece in a 1-1 draw.

Division One leaders Cannockbis Dank Council ran out 7-3 winners over Blewitt FC this week, in what was Blewitts last game before moving to the Wednesday league.  A late winner for Borussia Teeth saw them move to within a point of second placed Peasports who they beat by a single goal this week, whilst Gem Carpets complete a trio of teams separated by a single point as they beat Arcade Cannock 4-2.

The Swan FC moved up a place into sixth as they won a nine goal thriller against new team Sevilla Depression, whilst Bridge Rejects and Allison Wonderland shared the spoils in an entertaining 3-3 draw.

Division Two leaders PG close in on the title as they remain three points clear at the summit, they battered Notinyourmoms Forest 9-2 this week, whilst River Plate's recent good form sees them move into second place this week as they thrashed The Special ones by a 5-1 score line, and Red Hot Chilli Knackers suffered a 2-1 reverse against Pathetico Madrid.  Harriers recent resurgance sees them right in the promotion hunt as they were 4-0 winners over Lallanas In Pyjamas, finally Just Matip made it five unbeaten with a 9-1 thrashing of Beacon Bombs.

We are delighted to welcome new team Bazikstan FC to Division One this week, they replace the outgoing Blewitt FC.  We wish the new boys good luck in their opening game on Monday 21st March when they meet Peasports.
