Monday 16th January - Cannock Round-Up

It was an excellent evening's football in the Cannock Monday 6 a side league this week with all teams in attendance for their matches barring Rugeley Massive in Division Two, who we have now removed from the league with immediate effect as this was their second failure to attend.

On the field there were some entertaining matches played.  In the Premier Division, Skillage In The Village moved to the top of the table as they were 2-1 winners over Athletico Gem Carpets, moving them above Harchester United who drop to second place after being held to a 2-2 draw by Aston Villagers.  Barsportelona got their first victory of the season as they were narrow 2-1 winners over Neville Wears Prada.

In Division One, Sevilla Depression remain top of the table but see their lead cut to one point after they drew 3-3 with Sporting Bad Haircuts in an entertaining encounter, whilst second placed Harriers were 2-1 winners over Thiago X Silva.  Karius To Glory drew 1-1 with Tekkerslovakia in the mid-table battle, whilst new boys Smokehouse Athletic were beaten 3-2 by Socks in a well competed game which gives them encouragement.

In Division Two, Swan FC went to the top of the table after an impressive 4-1 win over We Lose Every Week, whilst Allison Wonderland and Madeleine Milan drop to second and third respectively as they shared a point apiece in a 2-2 draw.  Elsewhere, Arcade Cannock were 5-0 winners over Matip, whilst Special Ones beat Xavi Dodgers by the same scoreline as the two sit fourth and fifth in that order.

Pathetico Madrid put in a five star performance in Division Three, as they won their fifth game on the bounce, but were made to work for it this week as they edged past Koch In Dias by 2 goals to 1.  Beacon Bombs stay second and a point off the leaders after they secured an emphatic 4-2 win over Lallanas In Pyjamas, whilst completing the action was Red Hot Chilli Knackers who were 3-2 victors over Ayden B in another entertaining game.
