Monday 17th October - Cannock Round-Up

It was a good evening's football in the Cannock Monday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance for their matches as scheduled across all four divisions, and some well competed games played.

Skillage In The Village got a crucial result at the top of the table this week as they edged past River Plate by a single goal to go to the summit, level on points with second placed Aston Villagers but as good as a point ahead with their far superior goal difference.  River Plate dropped to third place in a tightly conested division.  Athletico Gem Carpets moved off the foot of the table as the won the battle of the bottom two, beating Cannockbis 4-1.

In Division One SBFC VI dropped to second place despite their 3-2 win over Tekkerslovakia in a cracker of a match played in a superb spirit.  Bridge Rejects moved up a place in a tight looking table as they came from behind to get a hard fought 3-1 win over Madeleine Milan.

Barsportelona continue to lead the way at the top of Division Two as they were 3-0 winners over Allison Wonderland, they look certain to be playing Division One football next season.  Rugeley Massive on only their second week in the league gained a superb result as they edged past second placed The Special Ones by 3 goals to 2, but third placed Matip were unable to capitalise on this as they were beaten 6-2 by Thiago X Silva who collected back to back wins for the first time this season.  Harriers completed the division's action with a narrow 2-1 win against Baines on Toast to stay fifth.

Division Three leaders The Arcade Cannock suffered a shock result this week as they were beaten 4-1 by Koch in Dias who are now five unbeaten.  Second placed The Swan were unable to take advantage of this though as they were beaten 1-0 against Red Hot Chilli Knackers, allowing Beacon Bombs to move to within a point of the promotion places, as they also grabbed a 1-0 win against Pathetico Madrid.  Lallanas completed the action with an impressive 4-1 win over Jerry Hat Tricks.
