Monday 1st November - Cannock Round-Up

It was another excellent evening's football in the Cannock Monday 6 a side league this week with all teams in attendance for their scheduled matches, the only exception being 'Gangsters Allardyce' who we thank for contacting us and look forward to seeing return on Monday 8th November.

Congratulations to Skillage In The Village who sealed the title with a game to spare as they met second placed Sporting Bad Haircuts in the Premier Division this week, with Skillage running out 3-1 winners in a very competitive fixture.  Beaky Blinders were rewarded with a 2-0 win following a disciplined performance against Cannock Young Boys, as they sit in third place with a game to play.  Classtro Turf slipped into the relegation places as they suffered a 3-1 reverse at the hands of Harchester United.

Cheslyn Hay's dominance of Division One was taken to another level this week as they romped to a 10-0 win over Demba 9 Bar, they will be looking forward to Premier Division football next season after a stunning campaign.  The second promotion place is still very much all to play for going into the final game of the season though, as Thiago X Silva edged past Club Bates by a 2-1 scoreline to leapfrog them into second spot.  Bates will now need to do what most have struggled to in the final game and beat Cheslyn Hay to gain promotion.

In Division Two, a goalless draw was enough to seal promotion for Athletic Gem Carpets as Dominos held them.  Borussia Teeth stay second but suffered a defeat to third placed The Arcade Cannock who move to within a point of promotion with a game to play.  Borussia will need to pick up a result against Athletico Gem to confirm promotion, otherwise a win for The Arcade over Pathetico would see them sneak into second spot and confirm back to back promotion.

Division Three leaders Bridge Rejects blew away Red Hot Chilli Knackers this week as they cruised to a 5-0 win, whilst second placed PeaSports also show no let up as both have promotion in the bag already, they were 3-0 winners over bottom of the table It Was Just Matip.  Harriers were 4-0 winners in their match against Lallanas In Pyjamas whilst Expected Toulouse climbed from the bottom of the table, putting in an excellent performance to get past The Special Ones by a 3-2 scoreline.
