Monday 20th June - Cannock Round-Up

It was a good evening's football in the Cannock Monday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance throughout the night , the only exceptions being Club Bates and Allison Wonderland, both of which return on Monday 27th June.

We are pleased to welcome new team Half Pump and Dribble FC to the Premier Division this week!  They take the vacancy in the Premier Division and we wish them good luck in their first fixture on Monday 27th June as they take on Cannock Young Boys.

There is a new leader in the Premier Division this week as Harchester United suffered a surprise 5-2 reverse at the hands of Sporting Bad Haircuts, allowing Peasports to move two points clear at the summit, they took full advantage as they won a closely fought encounter 3-2 against Skillage In The Village!  Cannock Young Boys boosted their survival hopes this week as they picked up an impressive 3-1 win over third placed Aston Villagers.

Division One leaders River Plate dented PG's promotion hopes this week as they won a competitive game 3-1, a result which sees PG drop to fourth in the table as Gem Carpets 5-0 win and Borussia Teeth's 4-1 victory over Karius To Glory moved both up a place in the table, with Borussia now occupying the second promotion spot.  Nice to Michu put 2 points between them and second bottom Thiago X Silva who they beat by 4 goals to 1 this week to boost their survival chances.

Bridge Rejects got a 5-0 win this week to stay top of Division Two, and although being held to a 3-3 draw by bottom side Swan FC, Sevilla Depression sneaked into the second promotion place above Allison Wonderland who forfeited.  The Arcade Cannock picked up a vital 2-1 win over The Special Ones this week which keeps them in touching distance of survival, as the team just above them Barsport were 5-2 winners against Harriers.

Division Three leaders It Was Just Matip continue their title charge as they were 4-2 winners against Bazikstan FC this week, they still remain a point clear of second placed Real Sosobad who won by the same scoreline against Beacon Bombs as the two battle it out for the title.  Red Hot Chilli Knackers lost ground on the promotion places after they were beaten 3-2 by Pathetico Madrid in a surprise result, they are now three points off second place.  Elsewhere, Lallanas In Pyjamas put in a steely performance to move up to fifth place as they edged a close encounter against Sheffield Monday by a goal to nil.

We wish all teams good luck for game week 10 with Cannock's premier providers of small sided football!
