Monday 21st March - Cannock Round-Up

It was a good evening's football in the Cannock Monday 6 a side league this week, which saw all teams in attendance for their matches as scheduled, the only exception being Beaky Blinders unusually, who will be spoken to accordingly to confirm their return on Monday 28th March.

After fulfilling their two week withdrawal notice, Notinyourmoms Forest have left the league.  We are pleased to welcome new team BarSportelona to the league as their replacement and wish these good luck going into their first game in Division Two as they face up against Lallanas In Pyjamas.

Harchester United got back to winning ways and did so in style this week, after thrashing Thiago X Silva by 10 goals to 2.  Second placed Skillage In The Village keep up the pressure on the leaders after romping to victory themselves, they were 7-2 victors over Aston Villagers.  Elsewhere Cannock Young Boys came out victorious in an entertaining game against Nice to Michu which they eventually ran out 4-2 winners, whilst Sporting Bad Haircuts and Karius To Glory shared the spoils in an entertaining 2-2 draw.

Division One stays close at the top, as four points separate the top four teams.  Cannockbis Dank Council should seal promotion barring a major collapse, they sit three points clear of the third placed teams with only four points to play for, after a hard fought 2-2 draw with Athletico Gem Carpets.  Second placed Peasports had a tougher game than expected against new boys Bazikstan FC but eventually ran out 1-0 winners, the top two meet next week in what promises to be a superb game.

Third placed Borussia Teeth also kept their hopes alive after a commprehensive 3-0 win against The Swan, they also have a big game next week against fourth placed Gem Carpets, in a week which could all but decide the promoted sides!  Other action saw Allison Wonderland run out 10-3 winners in a dominant performance over Sevilla Depression, whilst Bridge Rejects scored a late winner to edge past The Arcade Cannock 2-1 in a tightly contested game.

PG look home and dry in Division Two as they romped to a 6-0 win over It Was Just Matip to now sit four points clear with a massive goal difference.  The second promotion spot is still well up for grabs as just two points separate second down to fifth.  River Plate stay in second space after beating Lallanas In Pyjamas 3-1, remaining a point clear of Red Hot Chilli Knackers in third place, after they were 9-3 winners over Beacon Bombs.  Harriers 2-0 win over the outgoing Notinyourmoms Forest and Special Ones 3-1 win against Pathetico keeps both also in the hunt.

We wish all teams good luck going into the penultimate round of fixtures with Cannock's premier providers of small sided football!
